Bali has a dry season (roughly May–September) and a wet season (roughly October–April). In February-March the island is still in wet season mode: expect more showers, more clouds, cooler temps at altitude, and muddier tracks. So why visit Bali when it’s raining? Good question First of all, the rain is often intense but short, it can pass and leave you with perfect and sunny riding conditions an hour later. But the rain mostly means richer scenery, with bright green colors, fewer crowds and different lines that make off-road riding in Bali more fun, not less!
We always plan our rides around weather and safety. We adapt routes to conditions and your skill level so you get the best experience.
Yes, there will be more rain, and mornings can be cloudier and cooler, especially up in Kintamani. That’s part of the adventure! You’ll ride through dramatic, bright green rice fields, misted volcano paths and quiet beaches with fewer tourists. The tracks change compared to Bali’s dry season. Some parts get sloppier, other areas gain more grip as volcanic sand binds with moisture both in the volcano area as the forests. Our guides always put safety first and choose lines suitable for the group and their level.
On every half‑day, full‑day, multi‑day and Ultimate Tour, we’re there to support you. Whether you need help overcoming nerves about riding in the rain, a quick repair, or just a question answered, our team has your back!
The beach itself stays great in Feb–March. We watch tides and sometimes adjust start times. But the track to access the beach and the sand loop remain perfect for riding, especially for beginners in the sport. The real change is the jungle short approach at the end of the trail. It’s wetter, with roots and slippery leaves. For beginners we choose the easiest lines. For intermediates and advanced, it’s a fun challenge. Tabanan Beach is a safe, beautiful place to get confident and learn on sandy surfaces.
This one turns into an adventure playground in Bali’s wet season. Erosion creates ruts, and mud and wet leaves make traction trickier in the Tabanan Jungle. If it’s been raining that day or overnight, expect the trail to be a bigger challenge. With technical sections and slower lines, this trail becomes the perfect adventure for intermediates and advanced riders. It’s for riders who want to push their limits and chase adrenaline. We may reroute or cut sections depending on the skills of the riders and safety.
Rain makes the Kintamani Forest trail pop and it actually gets more fun. Everything goes super green and the combination of soil and volcanic sand often gives surprisingly good grip for tyres when damp. The uphills and downhills feel more manageable and less dusty, something which our riders love. Occasionally the heavy rains wash trails away, so our guides sometimes improvise fresh lines through the forest. That sense of discovery and adventure is part of why this Kintamani trail in Bali is a rainy‑season favorite.
The Kintamani volcano trail during the rainy season is also great fun. Riding in higher altitude means cooler temps and more fog around. Volcanic sand compacts when it’s wet, so it reduces dust and offers stable traction. Great for gaining speed on descents, but only push within your limits. Your visibility can drop in fog, so we sometimes slow the pace and stick to obvious lines when the weather gets rough. We provide rain jackets when needed and advise layering for the mountain chill. For many riders, these off-road foggy volcano mornings and afternoons are epic, just dress warm and follow the guide!
Yes! We inspect bikes before every ride, set routes to match skill levels and carry first aid, water and communication gear. If a section is unsafe due to weather, we adapt or change the route, always.
It won’t be too cold to ride, but it can be chilly in the mountains. Layer up and bring a light jacket; we also supply rain jackets when required.
